DSIP - a neuropeptide for bedtime

Everyone who has missed part of the night at least once, and had duties waiting for them from the morning, probably knows what a life-hindering ailment insomnia is. Of course, there are plenty of substances to help combat this affliction. Some of them, such as drugs from the benzodiazepine group or hydroxyzine, are quite invasive, have a whole range of side effects and, above all, work to induce drowsiness that lasts only for part of the night.

If a person with a sleep problem wakes up in the middle of the night (and this can affect one's condition as much the next day as the inability to fall asleep), he or she needs to take such a dose of the drug that he or she will feel sleepy even after waking up.

Supplements such as lemon balm or melatonin, for example, have a much milder effect, but also only help you fall asleep through their short half-life. As the topic of peptides has been studied for a very long time, scientists decided to enlist the help of these substances and improve another important aspect of human life. It is no different in the case of sleep.

DSIP - rhythm-inducing peptide

Delta Sleep Inducing Peptide (for that is the full name of this substance) is a natural peptide produced in the hypothalamus, which - thanks to its ability to overcome the blood-brain barrier - is perfect for external use.

The action of this substance is very different from what sleep aids offer, as its first proven effect was to improve the quality of the deep sleep phase. However, it didn't stop there. Studies conducted later showed that the DSIP peptide has a normalizing effect on the body's diurnal rhythm. Instead of inducing drowsiness after ingestion, DSIP regulates our body so that we only fall asleep peacefully under favorable conditions. Thus, one can apply the neuropeptide in the morning, and we will still be drowsy when we turn off the light and calm down ready for sleep at an average bedtime.

When it comes to DSIP's effect its persists for up to 22 hours, during which we are both relaxed asleep and alert and active when we need to be, which is no doubt due to (finally!) of healthy sleep.

Other properties of the peptide

While the primary action of the described substance is the regulation of the diurnal rhythm, DSIP also has applications in stress relief. In animal experiments, administration of DSIP to rabbits caused their stress response to barking dogs to be reduced. Similar effects were obtained in studies on rats.

It is well known that healthy sleep positively affects pain tolerance, but the neuropeptide's effect on the opioid system in our brain further enhances this effect. When tested on people with chronic pain conditions, such as migraines, tinnitus or psychogenic pain, DSIP clearly reduced their pain levels. In addition, it was observed that the agent reduced depressive states, which were comorbid complaints among the subjects.

Interaction with the opioid system has also been shown to help DSIP treat addiction. A control group consisting of individuals with withdrawal syndrome symptoms caused by opioid addiction, and a second group in which alcohol was the cause of the symptoms, experienced complete resolution or significant relief of withdrawal effects in 97 and 87% of individuals, respectively.

A minor, but hopeful future for combating infertility, as well as in supporting gonadal activity during post-doping rebound, may be another study conducted on rats. 30 minutes after DSIP was administered to these animals, the level of luteinizing hormone produced by their pituitary gland increased, and this state persisted for another 2 hours.

DSIP - dosage and safety

Neuropeptide can be found in our store, which offers you this substance both in the form of convenient spray, as well as in the form of preparation for injection.

According to the research results cited earlier, the appropriate doses of DSIP are in the range of 20 to 25 mcg per kilogram of body weight, but the exact dosage should be determined individually. It is worth mentioning that the substance has no side effects, and the only exception was a rare headache in those with withdrawal syndrome.
