YK-11 is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM family) - it stimulates steroid hormone receptors - androgen receptors - by mimicking testosterone. Although it belongs to the SARM group, the mechanism of action is slightly different. Its action is similar to that of DHT (dihydrotestosterone)). YK-11 is also an inhibitor of myostatin, YK-11 increases the expression of the protein follistatin - myostatin antagonist.
